The CC Open Pool System is unique. It is the only system to unite companies within the horticultural industry around a single transportation standard. Those same cost-saving principles and system have then been applied to other industries. With CC's support, several industries have witnessed higher efficiency and quality throughout their supply chains resulting in lower costs.

One of the basic concepts of the CC Pool System is the ability to exchange returnable transport items (RTIs) freely, resulting in a smoothly running supply chain, and you don't have to worry about damaged RTIs. Through an annual pool fee, repair and maintenance - and even complete replacement of badly damaged material - is covered.

Although the CC Pool System is wide-ranging, it is based on a very simple concept. Through a widespread international CC depot network, it is possible to turn in empty CC RTIs at one depot, and collect the corresponding (or needed) RTIs at another depot for a modest transfer fee. Therefore the total number of units in use in a company’s supply chain can be reduced, and administration kept to a minimum. Or even simpler: You have the possibility to swap empty RTIs for full – or the other way around – all the way through the supply chain. This is what we call 1-for-1 exchange. This simplifies administration and therefore reduces costs further.

You can hire our RTIs for short or long periods of time depending on your needs.

Less Administration and Costs

1-for-1 returnable transport item (RTI) exchange is an ideal solution as it results in only the minimum of administration. However, in practice, this exchange cannot always be fulfilled.

As the same RTI may be used from one end of the supply chain to the other, the total number of RTIs in the supply chain is therefore reduced. In practice, every link in the supply chain invests in the RTIs it needs, and the total investment for every single user is therefore reduced.

For a modest transfer fee, you can even turn in your empty RTIs at one CC depot, and collect the corresponding number of RTIs at another depot and in this way save the hassle and costs of transporting empty equipment.

CC ensures your Pool stock keeps moving

At present there are approximately 3 million CC Containers in use in the Pool system. We maintain a high quality in the system, and ensure that your returnable transport items (RTIs) are kept functioning by checking and repairing or replacing the RTIs continuously. Around 150,000 CC Containers and close to 1 million shelves are processed by our repair workshops annually. This service is covered by a modest fixed annual pool fee, including total replacement of RTIs without further charge.
