RFID
- micro chips in transportation material
Radio Frequency Identification, or “RFID”, is the technology that uses radio waves to automatically identify objects – such as crates, pallets, commodities etc..
Each RFID tag contains a unique Electronic Product Code (EPC), which is a kind of “license plate” of the tagged item. When RFID tags are applied to Returnable Transport Items (RTIs), it becomes possible to set up automatic registration of your RTI flow – thus saving you time and costs: The EPC code is registered automatically when the tagged item passes through an “RFID gate” or is scanned with a handheld RFID reader.
Furthermore, the flow of the products that the RTIs are carrying can be registered just as easily, simply by combining the information on what each RTI is carrying with the registration of the specific RTI.
CC is using a UHF Class 1 Gen 2 tag.

Applying RFID tags to Returnable Transport Items (RTIs) makes it possible to optimize your logistics even further by reducing the need for manual registration of your product and RTI flow.
