Transportation Equipment from CC with RFID
CC Container with RFID
Container Centralen is right now preparing for “Operation Chip It”, which will see all 3.5m CC Containers tagged with an RFID chip by January 10, 2011.
The implementation of RFID in the European Horticultural industry is supported by Landgard, GASA Group, FloraHolland and VGB, and is furthermore supported by IBM. By introducing RFID to all CC Containers, users will see future transport and logistics become even faster and easier. At the same time the new technology will ensure that illegal, low-quality container copies are kept out of the CC Pool System, which leads to less disruptions for all CC Container users.

The CC Container is the European standard for transportation of potted plants - and in the future it will also set the “electronic standard” in the market.
CC Crates with RFID
A range of RFID-tagged crates from CC are currently being tested in Germany and the Netherlands in closed loops (the CC Freshboxes / CBLs, and the CC Eurocrates).
Following these REWE International has recently signed a deal that will replace their current rigid crates that are used for fruits, vegetables and fresh products, with the CC Eurocrate. Implementation of the CC Eurocrate will be carried out during September, 2009 to November, 2011.
The innovative design of the CC Eurocrates, which ensures a volume reduction up to 80 % when empty, is a significant advantage in transport and logistics. REWE International estimate that they will show an annual saving of 1.5m. kilometres for trucks transporting the crates, which in turn leads to an expected annual reduction of CO2 emissions of 1.4m kg.

CC Euro Dolly with RFID
The latest product from CC, the CC Euro Dolly, has been designed with an RFID tag, and is thus prepared for the future.
The Euro Dolly can be loaded directly at the packaging facility and used as a display unit (“Floor ready packaging”) at the retailer. This advantage was also clear when e.g. the Swiss company Denner decided to introduce the CC Euro Dolly in their chain of discount retail stores, where it is now also used.
The CC Euro Dolly has been designed with RFID tag.
Tagging returnable transportation items (RTIs) like rolling pallets, returnable crates, and the flower and pot plant trolley (CC Container) with RFID will result in substantial time and cost savings for all parties in the supply chains.
